For all my ceremonies I like to:-
Initially meet you or talk to you, wherever possible, to get to know you. After booking and 3-4 months before your special occasion, meet with you to discuss your requirements and get as much information as possible from you to enable me to write your bespoke ceremony.
I will provide as many drafts as maybe required of your script until you are happy with the wording for your ceremony.
With a wedding we will have a rehearsal, preferably at the venue (if they allow access prior to the wedding day) or location.
On the day I will arrive with plenty of time to spare to talk with those involved in your ceremony and then perform the ceremony itself. I will present you with a commemorative certificate and a hand-made booklet of the ceremony script.
Travel expenses throughout Cambridgeshire are covered. Additional travel expenses may be incurred for ceremonies outside this area.
Do you provide a PA system?
We will discuss the venue/location and number of guests when we meet before deciding if we feel a PA system is required. If one is necessary you will need to speak with the venue or your band/DJ to see if they can supply one for the ceremony. This is not something I provide.
Are you affiliated to anyone?
As an Independent Civil Celebrant I am not affiliated to any particular religion or faith. I can offer a non-religious ceremony based on humanist values, or add religious elements if you so wish.
Are the ceremonies legally binding?
Renewal of vows and naming ceremonies of any form are not legally binding.
As for weddings, you will need to attend your local registry office to register your marriage and for a marriage certificate to be issued so it is recognised by English Law. The ceremony I conduct can be before or after visiting the registry office, at a venue or location of your choice with absolutely no restrictions.
What are the advantages of having me as your celebrant?
I am a qualified celebrant holding my certificate in Marriage and Family Celebrancy and I am a member of a professional organisation called the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants. I also have public liability insurance to the value of £10 million.
As to your ceremony, you will meet with me before the occasion, we will get to know each other, a bespoke script will be written for you that has not been used hundreds of times before and it will be personal. It will not be limited by rules and regulations.
